The Department of Radio and Television at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a practical lecture for evening program students, dedicated to training them in the art and techniques of video editing. This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing programs aimed at enhancing practical skills and linking academic study with hands-on application in the laboratories.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Mustafa Amer, included a detailed explanation of the fundamentals of television editing, methods for selecting and arranging shots, and constructing a visual sequence that serves the intended media message. It also introduced students to the key software and modern techniques used in contemporary editing, complemented by practical exercises conducted in the lab.

Students actively participated in creating actual editing samples under the direct supervision of the lecturer, which contributed to developing their technical skills and refining their practical abilities in television production.

This lecture is part of the Department of Radio and Television’s plan to elevate the level of its students, particularly those in the evening program, through organizing practical lectures and workshops that prepare qualified media professionals capable of meeting the demands of modern media work.
