The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, Professor Adnan Ibrahim Al-Jumaili, honored Wiam Maher Mahmoud, a student at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, from the Department of Digital Journalism, in recognition of her academic excellence and sporting achievements. She was recognized as a model of a university student capable of combining academic success with achievement in extracurricular activities.
The honor came during Al-Jumaili’s reception of the student in his office, where he emphasized that genuine investment begins with supporting outstanding students and recognizing their achievements, as they represent a key pillar in shaping the future of higher education and preparing young leaders capable of creativity and contribution.
Al-Jumaili noted that the active presence of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, in media, student, and sporting activities reflects a university environment that encourages excellence. He praised the efforts of the College’s administration in identifying and nurturing young talents and creating conditions that enable students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
He stressed that honoring Wiam Maher Mahmoud is a recognition of her determination and dedication, as well as an encouragement to all Iraqi university students to continue striving for excellence and contribute to raising the profile of their academic institutions in various fields.
For her part, Wiam Maher Mahmoud expressed her sincere gratitude for the honor, affirming that the recognition provides strong motivation to continue pursuing academic excellence and achieving further accomplishments worthy of the College of Mass Communication and the University of Baghdad.
