The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a tree-planting campaign in the college gardens titled “Today’s Tree, Tomorrow’s Shade,” with the participation of students and staff. The campaign aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage greater care for green spaces.

The campaign involved planting trees and saplings across the college gardens, alongside raising awareness about the importance of caring for plants and monitoring their growth. Green spaces play an important role in improving air quality, reducing pollution, mitigating the effects of climate change, and enhancing the appearance of the university environment.

The initiative seeks to promote social responsibility toward the environment and encourage activities that help preserve natural resources and provide a healthy, sustainable environment for future generations.

Supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Al-Shujairi, the campaign aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 15: Life on Land, by supporting environmental initiatives and promoting the protection of vegetation.
