Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, Professor Ammar Taher Mohammed, received Dr. Nada Al-Abadi, Acting Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during a visit aimed at discussing ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides and develop media and training programs in support of media and government communication tracks.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Hanoun, in charge of the government communication portfolio in the Iraqi government. Discussions focused on a number of issues of mutual interest, most notably strengthening partnership between academic institutions and government bodies concerned with media and communication, as well as benefiting from the scientific and academic expertise of the College of Mass Communication in preparing and developing media professionals.

Both sides stressed the importance of consolidating cooperation through organizing training programs, specialized workshops and joint scientific activities in a way that keeps pace with rapid developments in digital media and government communication, and contributes to building the capacities of students, graduates and media sector professionals.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Nada Al-Abadi expressed her appreciation for the academic and scientific role played by the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, while Professor Ammar Taher Mohammed reaffirmed the college’s commitment to expanding cooperation with government institutions in a way that strengthens its academic standing and serves the goals of media development in Iraq.
