The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad earned a high ranking in the annual evaluation of the activities carried out by the university’s Human Rights Units for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Dr. Asmaa Jameel, Head of the University’s Human Rights Division, praised the College of Mass Communication for its efforts and active engagement in implementing a range of programs addressing human rights issues and topics.

For her part, Dr. Oyoun Saad, Head of the College’s Human Rights Unit, emphasized the importance of developing a comprehensive plan and diverse practical programs for the new academic year. These initiatives aim to address key human rights concepts and issues while raising awareness among university communities about understanding and respecting human rights.

The activity reflects the College of Mass Communication’s commitment to awareness-raising and cultural programs alongside its academic and research mission. It also aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16, which promotes peace, justice, and strong institutions, particularly in advancing a culture of human rights and fostering societies grounded in legal awareness and respect for rights and freedoms.
