A master’s thesis titled “The Role of Podcast Programs on Iraqi Satellite Channels in Enhancing Audience Values” was discussed at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, by researcher Noor Al-Huda Diaa Ahmed.

The examination committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Wissam Fadhil Radi, with Professor Dr. Ali Abbas Fadhil serving as supervisor. Members included Professor Dr. Hussein Dubai Hassan and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Hamid Obeid as an external examiner.

The study aimed to examine the role of podcast programs broadcast on Iraqi satellite channels in enhancing audience values, in light of the rapid transformations in the contemporary media landscape driven by technological advancement and the spread of digital media platforms.

The findings showed that social values ranked first among the values promoted in podcast content, and that 89% of the study sample confirmed that podcast programs contribute to strengthening their personal and social values.

The study recommended that Iraqi satellite channels give greater attention to developing podcast content in ways that reinforce positive values, and focus on producing purposeful programs that address societal issues in engaging and influential formats.

The results align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 9 on “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” through leveraging digital media and technological development especially podcasts to produce innovative content that meets contemporary needs.
