The Dean of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, Professor Ammar Taher Mohammed, received an invitation from the Norwegian Cultural Center in Iraq to join the coalition of the “Culture and Media Ambassador” project for the 2026–2027 cycle and participate in a joint working session addressing the project’s academic and scientific aspects.

The invitation was extended in cooperation with the independent Uruk Media Organization and Voice of Norway Media Foundation, as part of preparations to launch the project, which aims to expand cultural and media cooperation between Iraq and Norway, with a focus on scientific research, digital journalism, and public communication.

The Center has assigned the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, an academic and advisory role in the project, including overseeing the methodological assessment and journalistic research submitted by candidates. This role reflects the College’s academic standing and its contribution to preparing media professionals and advancing research and studies in journalism and communication.

The invitation also includes the College Dean’s participation in a coordination and working session bringing together members of the coalition to discuss academic criteria and mechanisms for selecting participants, as well as ways to support the projects and research presented by the project’s ambassadors.

The invitation reflects the College of Mass Communication’s growing academic engagement in initiatives aimed at advancing media and research practices and opening new avenues for international cooperation in journalism and digital media.

The initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through institutional cooperation among academic, cultural, and media organizations in Iraq and Norway.
