The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad participated in the “Baghdad Is More Beautiful” tree-planting campaign, with the involvement of the “Beboon” volunteer team from the Public Relations Department and the “Ambassadors of Love” team from the Digital Journalism Department. The initiative highlighted the College’s commitment to community service, environmental awareness, and promoting a culture of volunteerism among students.

The participation saw active involvement by College students in planting trees and maintaining green spaces, reflecting the College’s belief in the importance of engaging young people in community initiatives that improve the urban environment and enhance Baghdad’s aesthetic appeal.

This initiative is part of the College’s efforts to strengthen students’ social responsibility and provide volunteer teams with opportunities to participate in community-serving activities. It also promotes cooperation, a sense of belonging, and initiative, transforming volunteer work from a student activity into meaningful action with a tangible impact on the environment and society.

The participation demonstrated that the role of College of Mass Communication students extends beyond producing media messages to contributing to positive change through initiatives that combine volunteerism, environmental awareness, and social responsibility. This reflects the promising role of University of Baghdad students in building a more sustainable future.

The College’s participation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
